yoinkvideo does one job: download a YouTube video to your device. Nothing else. This page tells you what data passes through us, what we keep, and what we don't.

What we don't collect

  • No account, sign-up, or email. There's nothing to log into.
  • No record of which videos you downloaded. URLs and video IDs aren't written to a log we can replay.
  • No video file kept after delivery. Any buffer used during a download is released as soon as you've received the file.
  • No social-network tracking pixels. No Facebook Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight Tag, no TikTok Pixel.
  • No pop-unders, fake download buttons, or "click here to install" malware bait.

Analytics

The site runs no advertising. Google Analytics (loaded via Google Tag Manager) records aggregate visit counts — pageviews, traffic sources, browser/device breakdown. Analytics is gated behind the consent banner: cookies stay off until you accept, and you can decline at any time. Analytics data isn't linked to specific downloads. Block-level ad/tracker blocking (e.g. uBlock Origin) works on this site — we don't run anti-adblock walls.

What we transiently see

Some data is unavoidably visible during a request. It's used for the purpose listed and isn't stored.

  • Your IP address, only for short-lived rate-limit counters that auto-expire. Not written to a log, not associated with the videos you request.
  • The video URL or ID you submit. Used to fetch the available formats and deliver the file. We do not retain a record of who requested what.
  • Standard HTTP headers (User-Agent, Accept-Language, etc.) for security and bot detection. Not retained by us.

Third parties involved

A request to download a YouTube video unavoidably involves YouTube. Network providers in between (the same kinds that handle any HTTPS traffic on the open internet) can see traffic volume and destination, but not the content, because it's encrypted in transit. None of them get your identity. We don't have one to share.

Right to be forgotten

There's nothing to forget. We don't store identifiers tied to you. The only data with any retention at all is short-lived and not linked to who requested it. It expires automatically. There's no manual deletion request to file because there's no record to delete.

Changes to this page

If our data practices ever change, this page is updated and the date at the top reflects the change. We won't quietly start collecting things.
